The One Year Update

Uncategorized No Comments »

Yes, we have been gone from home for over a year now. Katy and I have both grown a lot as a couple, and gained a lot of life experiences from this adventure of ours. Our first few months in Korea were pretty tough, but we managed to get through and it made us stronger as a couple. We also took some pretty fantastic trips together and made some great memories. During this past year we have traveled to Japan, China, Thailand and Hong Kong. We have also traveled in and around Korea to places such as Seoul, the DMZ, and Jejudo (the southernmost island of the country). This summer Katy and I are planning on going to Mongolia, and hopefully to Nepal in the winter.

When we first got here, we were placed out in the countryside but we decided many months ago that it wasn’t the place for us. Though our place wasn’t small compared to other foreigners apartments, we still decided we wanted a larger place and to be closer to the city. We moved into the city over a month ago, and life is much more comfortable because of it. Now we are much closer to friends, some western restaurants, and we are even only a 15 minute walk from Korea’s most famous beach.

So far, things have been great and I can’t wait to see what fun adventures this year will bring us!
