Cory And Katy

We are guessing that we have four weeks left in our house. This week was pretty productive and flew by quickly. We hired out some work on the house that we didn’t have the tools to do. Cory ripped out the cabinet in the basement stairwell to do some electrical work for the bathroom. We had the cabinet fixed and shortened in depth, and had the stairwell drywalled. Cory sanded it down today and helped Katy paint the drywall. Also, Katy interviewed with Eric Martin (Epik coordinator in Korea) this past week and passed with flying colors. Cory finished his Epik application and submitted it Friday evening and should be hearing back sometime this week. Things are going pretty well, but there is still more to get done.

Well today we got a lot of stuff done around the house.  Cory went to work this morning and Katy stayed home to do some drywall patching and some cleaning up around the house.  Cory then went to lowes to pick some plumbing supplies up and came to to be hard at work getting the bathroom all done.  Cory got the bathroom vanity all installed and plumbed and everything is working beautifully.  It’s kinda sad that we are doing all this work to the house only to leave it in a month or so.  This is stuff that we have been putting off doing but now that we have a hard deadline to meet we are busting our butts to make it happen.  We threw out all the old cabinets that were in the bathroom and ended up eating dinner next to the burning timber.  Katy made a beautiful dinner of coconut shrimp and fried bananas with some rice.  It was very tasty!   The house is pretty much all clean for our new renters to be looking at tomorrow afternoon.  We do have some odd ends to do still, Cory has to mow the lawn and buy some outlet covers, and Katy has to finish her drywall stuff up.  But it should be ready for them tomorrow.  Another week down, and only 6 more to go.

Well, things are coming along.  We have been saving up in the case that we can’t find anyone suitable enough to rent our house to, and had to pay the mortgage for a whole year.  We made a few contacts to friends and family and showed the house to a good friend of ours and it turns out that he will be renting the house out.  So, right now we are planning on being out of the house by Dec 1st, and will be living with Mom.  A lot of stuff to do by then.
